Any numismatic value to this silver?

I picked this up thinking it was a 25g bar (live and learn, I'm a newb to PMs). Would have been @spot if it actually was, this is however, a 2.5 gram bar.

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Pamp-Suisse-999-Silver-Bar-BU-MINT-SEALED_W0QQitemZ160235069877QQihZ006QQcategoryZ336 1QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem">Pamp Suisse Bar</a>

Obviously my error, but I am going to contact the seller and explain nicely my mistake and see if I can get a refund, as I'm guessing these are not all that "RARE".

Looks to me like the seller was quite clear about what he was selling. You were too hasty. Live and learn. Keep it as a reminder to yourself. If I were the seller, I wouldn't give you a refund.

And, no....it has no numis value.

No numis value, but it is fairly rare. Given that it's worth about $2 at best for silver content, there isn't a big market and there aren't that many made. That said, it's a pretty bar ... if you can make out the detail. Given that he carefully doesn't mention the weight in the header, and set his buy it now at very close to spot for an oz, he knows what he's doing and he's not going to forgive the debt. After all, he clearly says

All sales final, ask questions BEFORE YOU BID.
Just be glad you didn't go in for a stack of them.

The seller is good. Have done business with him.

Yes, they are rare - ANY kind of PAMP Silver bar is rare.

If you collect them, you would have had a good deal.

I don't know if I'd say that. He mentions it clear enough in the description.

One ounce PAMP Silver bars go for around $50+ when you can get them. "Fractionals" (not really, but sort of) are much more rare, especially in the US.

This is a small "price" to pay. At least you are still getting something of intrisic value.

ooooh, sorry about that. tenth ounce of silver is worth a little less than half of the 4 dollar shipping cost.
Well, you can always give it as a gift.... birthday, anniversary, haloween, etc.

Suck it up, pay for it and learn from your mistakes. I've made a few myself.:bear_tongue:

Anytime you learn a good lesson for $20, you have done well. Some of mine cost considerably more.

I kind of like my PM mistakes. They do something for me. It's like a little microcosm of how life works. If I lose $10 or $20 here and there, it always has helped me.
Now if I f'd up and lost hundreds I would not be so forgiving of my stupid decisions.
I have lost hundreds and even thousands other ways, but not with my PM's.
